Denton Regional Offers Class on Depression
Denton, TX (August 18, 2009) - Denton Regional Medical Center is pleased to offer a Spiritual Care Seminar on “The Crisis of Depression”. The class will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, and breakfast is provided at 8:00 am. The purpose of the seminar is to enable participants to differentiate symptoms different from sadness and to assist those who are sad/depressed gain better emotional control.
Seminar speaker is John Hipple, Ph.D., LPC, counselor at the University of North Texas Counseling Center since 1977. John has written 2 books and 20 articles on the subject of crisis intervention, depression, and suicide. In addition, he has presented workshops on these subjects nationally and internationally. He is the author of “Diagnosis & Management of Psychological Emergencies” with Lee Hipple and “The Counselor and Suicidal Crisis” with Peter Cimbolic.
The class will be held in the Mayhill Community Room, S. 310B in the Professional Office Building at Denton Regional Medical Center, 3537 S. I-35 E (exit: 462). This class is open to the community for a fee of $30 or $25 per person when more than one comes from the same organization or family, and is free to hospital staff, 2 CEU’s will be offered. Denton Regional Medical Center is accredited by the Texas Medical Association to provide continuing education for physicians. This course has been designated by DRMC for 2.0 hour of education in medial ethics and/or professional responsibility, AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s) ™.
